Yesterday we had Lucy's Granny Rena (Tu-whare-toa) share her amazing artwork with our group Te Whānau Kotahitanga.

We started off with a mihi whakatau to welcome her in to our space Te Ako Pohutukawa.

Rena talked to the group about her artwork and where she got her ideas from. She loves Aotearoa and uses our beautiful and interesting landscapes as inspiration to create her fabulous artworks.

The children explored each art piece and asked Rena questions or give her feedback about what they liked. Many of the children talked about the vibrant colours she uses through her artwork as well as the tiny details on her canvas pieces.

The children also flicked through the beautiful books she put on display.

At the end the children thank her with some hand-made presents and 'Granny Rena' thank the children with some delicious home-baked cookies.

What a fabulous afternoon!
